Gameweek 6 Top Wildcard Picks from The Algorithm

Updated: Oct 22

As Gameweek 6 approaches, many FPL managers are considering hitting the Wildcard button to overhaul their squads and gain a competitive edge. But with so many options available, it can be overwhelming to decide who to bring in. That’s where The Algorithm steps in, delivering data-driven, personalized recommendations to maximize your points potential.

In this post, we’ll reveal the top Wildcard picks for GW6, based on the Algorithm’s insights. Whether you're looking to boost your rank or maintain momentum, these players are set to deliver in the coming weeks.

Let’s dive into the best Wildcard choices to dominate Gameweek 6!

Bryan Mbeumo

Bryan Mbeumo

Bryan Mbeumo (£7.2m) is Brentford's number one talisman. On all set pieces and penalties, if Brentford score, this guy is likely to be involved. Brentford have the best upcoming fixture run in the league, and I'd be very scared to go without the Cameroonian international in my team. With 4 goals already this season, he's the man on form and is a top pick for Gameweek 6 Wildcard.

Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka is another lock on the GW6 Wildcard. With LEI (H) and SOU (H) in GW6 and 7, Saka is a standout captaincy option. Once again, he's Arsenal's main man, the third best attacking team in the league according to The Algorithm. On penalties and set pieces and priced at a reasonable £10.0m, Saka is going to go big. A Gameweek 6 FPL tip for you - Captain Saka!

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Yes, it's a bit of a rogue pick. DCL hasn't exactly been a top tier FPL asset over recent seasons due to a mixture of form and injury. However, with 2 goals and an assist already this season, he seems to be coming back to his best and has a pretty good upcoming fixture run. He's very reasonably priced at £6.0m, and he's on penalties for Everton. I'd say it's worth the risk.

Gabriel

Gabriel

Gabriel (£6.1m) is the rock at the Arsenal defence alongside William Saliba (£6.0m). Whilst a case could be made for either to be in your team (or even both), I prefer Gabriel slightly for his goal-threat from set pieces. He's already scored twice this season, and should probably have had another against Man City on Sunday. Arsenal have the best defence in the league according to The Algorithm, and more clean sheets are coming.

Joao Pedro

Joao Pedro

I can see Joao Pedro (£5.6m) being a season hold as long as he stays fit. He returned from injury last weekend by coming off the bench, and I expect him to start against Chelsea this weekend. He is so cheap for what he is, which the talismanic forward at the heart of Brighton's attack, and their main penalty taker as well. Brighton look really good going forward under Hurzeler, and Joao Pedro looks to be at the centre of their setup along with Welbeck. Whilst his fixtures aren't great, he's too cheap to ignore.
