FPL GW10 Preview: The £12.2m Everton Pair

KnightManagers · 2026-11-06

If you have a midfield and a forward slot to fill in FPL GW10, I prefer Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Thierno Barry to Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson. The Everton pair costs £12.2m, £0.8m less than the Bournemouth pair, and The Algorithm gives them 1.8 more projected points in GW10 and 7.1 more over eight gameweeks.

That makes Everton my first stop for a new purchase. If you already own either Bournemouth player, I would start him at Ipswich if available and save a paid transfer for a bigger problem.

The GW10 deadline is Friday 6 November at 18:30 UK time, 19:30 in Tirana. Prices, ownership and projections were checked on 5 November 2026. The forecast window is GW10–17, and gaps use unrounded figures.

Which £6.6m midfielder should you buy?

Dewsbury-Hall is my choice for a vacant midfield spot. Both he and Tavernier cost £6.6m. Dewsbury-Hall projects 5.0 at home to Coventry, against Tavernier’s 4.1 at Ipswich. The gap is 2.8 xP over eight gameweeks, below the four points you would give up on a hit.

Player GW10 fixture Price Owned League points / minutes GW10 xP GW10–17 xP
Dewsbury-Hall, Everton Coventry (H) £6.6m 6.3% 41 / 805 5.0 31.7
Tavernier, Bournemouth Ipswich (A) £6.6m 28.2% 55 / 750 4.1 28.8
Barry, Everton Coventry (H) £5.6m 7.8% 39 / 761 4.7 32.3
Evanilson, Bournemouth Ipswich (A) £6.4m 18.8% 52 / 753 3.8 28.0

Tavernier has 14 more actual FPL points this season and had drawn 334,805 transfers in this gameweek by the time of the check. Dewsbury-Hall’s case is the upcoming schedule and his place in the side. He has started all nine league games, played 805 of 810 minutes and was Everton’s player of the match at Newcastle.

At 6.3% owned, Dewsbury-Hall has the highest GW10 projection among available midfielders below 10% ownership. The immediate opening is worth using if you need a midfielder. His forecast drops to 3.5 when Everton visit Brentford in GW11.

Is Barry worth choosing over Evanilson?

For a fresh forward purchase, I would take Barry and keep the £0.8m for another slot. Both forwards scored nine FPL points in GW9. Evanilson leads on season points and was the most-bought player in the gameweek at the time of the check, with 493,090 transfers in. Barry leads the current comparison by 0.9 xP this week and 4.2 across eight gameweeks.

If you have a free transfer and a more urgent problem elsewhere, keep it for that problem. I would hold Evanilson through Ipswich if the alternative is a hit. Barry’s eight-gameweek edge covers a four-point hit by only 0.2 xP, with 0.9 of the gain forecast for GW10. I would want the wider plan to justify paying that deduction.

Buying both Everton players also concentrates two attacking slots in one match. In GW11 the Bournemouth pair currently projects 7.4 combined at home to Forest, ahead of Everton’s 7.2 at Brentford. If both moves cost four points each, the Everton pair’s 7.1-point advantage falls short even over the full window.

Who should captain your GW10 team?

Gabriel now leads Haaland by 0.1 xP before captain doubling. It remains close, but I would give Gabriel the armband if he is expected to start. He has played every league minute. Havertz is third, with eight starts and 669 minutes making his selection worth checking.

Captain option GW10 fixture Price Owned League points / minutes GW10 xP
Gabriel, Arsenal Hull (H) £8.0m 24.7% 58 / 810 6.0
Haaland, Man City Forest (A) £15.8m 79.0% 68 / 799 5.9
Havertz, Arsenal Hull (H) £7.4m 5.8% 33 / 669 5.4

Arsenal have the strongest GW10 outlook at both ends. The Algorithm gives them 2.8 expected goals and a 59.3% clean-sheet chance against Hull. Everton’s 1.9 expected goals against Coventry give the home attackers a good opening, while the clean-sheet forecast is 35.7%.

Haaland completed City’s 3-2 win at Leipzig, scoring the winner. Gabriel played throughout Arsenal’s 2-1 win at Slavia Prague. Check subsequent club updates before locking the armband. For Tavernier and Evanilson, check the minutes and fitness reports from the 5 November game at Sparta Prague before counting on their Sunday minutes.

Everton’s Thursday update rules Grealish out and leaves Branthwaite subject to a fitness check after cramp at Newcastle. Those updates settle neither Barry’s nor Dewsbury-Hall’s starting place. Check your actual selling values and the three-per-club limit when putting the pair together.

GW10 questions

When do Everton play Coventry?

Friday 6 November at 20:00 UK time, 90 minutes after the FPL deadline.

Which Everton player should I buy first?

Fill the slot your team needs. Dewsbury-Hall has the higher immediate forecast. Barry costs £1.0m less and leads their eight-gameweek comparison.

Check the eight-gameweek predicted points and try the moves in the free team planner. Buy the Everton player who solves a gap in your XI and leave a healthy Bournemouth starter in place if the switch costs four points.
