What the rating measures
Your squad is scored against the best fifteen The Algorithm can build from a full £100.0m, so the number is the size of the gap between what you own and what that money could own. Both squads are re-scored on the latest projections every time somebody rates a team, so it is a live comparison rather than a stored verdict.
Questions people ask
- Can AI rate my FPL team?
- Yes. This rater scores your fifteen against a squad built by The Algorithm, the same thing that plans transfers for paying members, so the number you get is a comparison against an optimised team rather than an opinion.
- How do you see how good your FPL team is?
- Compare it against the best squad money can buy right now. That is what the score does. Your fifteen is measured against an optimised fifteen built from a full £100.0m, so a low score is not a judgement on your players, it is the size of the gap between what you own and what that money could own.
- What is a good FPL team rating?
- A 5 is exactly average: half of all squads score below it. Above 8 is a strong squad and fewer than one in ten reach it. Anything from 5 to 8 is an above-average team with real ground still to make up, which is where a single well-chosen transfer moves the number most.
- Is the FPL team rater free?
- Yes, and there is no card and no account. It does need an email address, which is where your rating goes, along with the best-value player you don't already own.
- Do I need my FPL Team ID or my password?
- Never your password. Your Team ID is optional: enter it and we load your real squad in one go, or build the fifteen yourself on the pitch in about two minutes. To find the ID, open the Points tab on the FPL site and take the number out of the address, as in .../entry/1234567/event/3. Reading a team that way is view-only, and nobody ever asks for your FPL password.
- Why did my FPL team rating go down without me changing anything?
- Because the numbers underneath both squads moved. Your fifteen and the squad you are measured against are re-scored on the latest projections every time somebody rates a team, so the gap between them changes even when nobody touches a player. The rating is a live comparison, not a stored verdict.
- Does a high rating mean I will get a good rank?
- It means your squad holds more expected points than most, which is what you can control. Rank also depends on captaincy, chips, timing and luck across a whole season. A strong squad makes a good rank likely rather than certain.
- How often does the rating change?
- The squad you are measured against is picked fresh for each gameweek, and the projections underneath both squads move through the week, so the same fifteen can score differently from one week to the next. That is the point: a team that was right in Gameweek 1 is rarely still right in Gameweek 6.
